Al-Noor Islamic Center is a mosque and registered non-profit. We hold five daily prayers, teach over 200 students each week, and run a food bank that serves every family who walks through our doors — Muslim or not.

Who we are
More than a building — a place people belong to.
What began in 1998 as a rented prayer room above a hardware store is now a purpose-built centre with a prayer hall, classrooms, a commercial kitchen and a community pantry. We are governed by an elected volunteer board and funded almost entirely by small recurring donations from the people we serve.
Our doors are open to everyone. Neighbours drop in for tours, students come for homework help, and on Saturday mornings the parking lot fills with volunteers packing grocery boxes. You do not need to be Muslim to be part of what happens here.

Our mission is to nurture faith, strengthen families, and serve our city with integrity — keeping the mosque open, welcoming and useful to everyone around it.

Sincere worship
Prayer on time, every day, in a space that is clean, calm and open from Fajr until Isha.

Qur’an, Arabic and character classes for children and adults, taught by qualified teachers.

Food, shelter referrals and crisis support offered without asking anyone’s faith or status.

Audited accounts published every year, and a board you can meet after Jumu’ah any week.

Every programme below is free to attend and run by volunteers from the congregation.

Education
Qur’an & Arabic School
Weekend and evening classes for ages 5–16, plus an adult beginners’ track. Small groups, one teacher per twelve students.

Outreach
Riverside Food Bank
A no-questions-asked pantry serving roughly 120 households a week, with fresh produce, halal and non-halal options.

Youth
Youth Circle & Mentoring
Friday evenings for teens: discussion, sport, homework help and one-to-one mentoring with vetted volunteers.

We fill 400 backpacks with supplies for local schools. Volunteers needed from 09:00; donations accepted all week.

Neighbours’ Night: Faith & Questions
An informal evening for non-Muslim neighbours to ask anything at all about Islam and about this centre. Tea and dessert provided.
Support the centre
Your giving keeps the lights on and the pantry full.
We take no government funding. Utilities, teachers’ stipends and the food bank are covered entirely by the community. A small monthly gift is worth more to us than a large one-off — it lets us plan the year with confidence.
- Every account is independently audited and published each spring.
- 100% of Zakat donations go directly to families in need.
- Gifts of time and skills are as welcome as money.

Office staffed Mon–Fri, 10:00–16:00. - Getting here
- Free parking for 60 cars. Bus routes 14, 22 and 61 stop outside. Step-free entrance on the north side.
- First time visiting?
- Wear something comfortable that covers shoulders and knees; scarves are available at the door. You’ll be asked to remove shoes before entering the hall. Just tell any volunteer it’s your first visit — someone will show you around.
